The 9th HCG Day: Still Waiting

Lisa and I are still awaiting the delivery of our HCG and the HCG diet protocol that comes along with it from HCG Diet Direct. While we’ve been waiting we’ve been looking around for info online and we’ve found a few sticky topics that get talked about a lot. And they’re going to be a bit rough if they’re actually true. We’re treating them as rumors at this point; nothing’s set in stone until we get the HCG diet protocol booklet from HCG Diet Direct. Then we’ll have to really deal with the trouble areas.

But I figured there’s no reason why I can’t share my worries with you. I’m really antsy about the possibility that diet soda and crystal light aren’t allowed on the diet; at all! And I’ve also heard tell that there’s only one berry allowed, no ground meat, and no substitutions. Hearing these “rumors” have left me a little bit tentative. This could be tougher than I thought.

I’ll start by bemoaning the potential lack of Diet Soda and Crystal Light. WHAT? Really no diet soda or Crystal Light? That’s what I heard, anyway. Some of the blogs I read back in the day pointed to their “twice daily diet soda” and their constant consumption of Crystal Light as their salvation while they abstained from sugar and ate very limited fruit. And I absolutely saw how that would be me. If I can’t have chocolate cake dripping with delightfully light and tasty glaze….I figured I could at least keep my hands busy wrapped around a Diet Soda! I’m going to stop considering the dreadful prospect now. It hasn’t yet been confirmed.

And the limitation to strictly strawberries just can’t be true, right? All berries are so good for you from what I’ve always heard. Although I do kind of remember there being something said about all the sugar that is packed into certain types of fruit. So this one could actually be true. I’ll be sad, but I’ll deal with it. I’ll miss the possibilities that are presented by blackberries. They’re my favorite.

And that brings me to the lack of ground meat on the approved HCG diet protocol. It seems fairly logical, but I just wanted to complain really quickly because it’s going to make it hard to make good HCG diet protocol approved choices at the next family barbeque. But that’s alright. I’ll figure something out!

So…no substitutions? Yikes! I think it would make it a lot easier if I could split up my little bits of food to have a little here, a little there throughout the day, but some forums are saying you just can’t do that. That seems a bit beyond strict, but maybe there’s a good reason for the rules. I sure would like to option of saving a serving of fruit for a late night snack, though. So…again…keeping my fingers crossed this one is actually just a rumor.

Basically…I guess I just need to suck it up and wait it out. When the instruction booklet arrives I’ll study it from front to back and learn the rules and then follow them; mostly because I think it would be awesome to lose 25 to 50 pounds in 25 days and also because if I follow the rules perfectly that means my dieting buddy, Lisa, will owe me a brand new pair of jeans. I’m thinking I want a new pair of Big Stars.

UPS? Are You Bringing My HCG?

This is Article 8. If you’ve missed the first seven articles…go backwards and catch up because it’s a series that will take you right through my process as I do the HCG diet. My friend, Lisa, is doing it with me. It should be great. (Well…it will be tough, but the results should be great!) At the moment I’m just waiting for my package from UPS! I ordered it the day before yesterday so I keep trying to tell myself that it’s too soon to expect a package that I didn’t expedite in the first place, but I can’t quite stop glancing out the window when a vehicle goes by.

I called Lisa to make sure she hadn’t received her’s before me and she hasn’t seen hide nor hair of the delivery man either; so at least that’s good news. Online shopping has made a spoiled brat of me; not only do I expect to be able to buy HCG with a Mastercard, Visa or Discover card, but I expect to be able to buy it online and to see it delivered to my door within the week. I’ve got high expectations, I know. But that’s what happens when you’re dealing with a savvy, online shopper.

So far my high expectations have been met. I did buy HCG with a Mastercard, Visa or Discover card (I chose Visa this time around…I try to take turns so no one card feels more loved than the others). And I did purchase the product online which is another aspect of my high retail expectations. And I have no reason to believe that my high expectations for speedy delivery will not be met. I did already receive a status update that changed it from ordered to “shipped.” And that was within 4 hours of my initial order (I checked).

So considering all that…I’m really happy with HCG Diet Direct’s service. They seem really great. The only thing I might change if I could go back is to select expedited shipping. But I guess that’s a bit premature. It could arrive tomorrow and then the expedited shipping charge would have been money thrown out the window. Just to get myself to stop thinking about the package coming in the mail I started looking at HCG recipes online. Some of them seemed pretty good. Others seemed questionable considering what I’ve heard about the diet so far (I’m pretty positive cheese is a big NO-NO!)

So since I’m unsure if they’re following the rules or not I didn’t print any of them off yet. That way I won’t get excited about any recipes that don’t actually fit within the approved guidelines.
