Women who are in their mid years suffer from Rosacea more than other women of different age groups. Usually Caucasian and fair skinned women are more prone to have Rosacea. Men might think that they are safe from the disease but there are cases wherein men also get Rosacea and their symptoms tend to be worse than the symptoms that women experience.
More often that not, Rosacea outbreaks affect the face particularly the forehead, nose and chin but the cheeks can also be affected. Since having red cheeks are usually associated with either sunburn or extreme weather conditions, some people would assume that the redness and inflammation is triggered because of the weather but the truth is, the person is already affected with Rosacea.
According to statistics, more women who are in their middle age are affected with this condition. Most of these women are Caucasian and fair skinned. One of the most common trait of these women is they blush very easily.
One of the reasons why the triggers are still not finalized is because the triggers vary from person to person. But it is believed that certain emotions can trigger Rosacea. These emotions are stress, anxiety and fear. There is also a claim that stomach bacteria can cause Rosacea. Do be reminded though that there are not enough evidences to support the claims mentioned above.
Since Acne and Rosacea somehow look similar, some people mistaken Rosacea for Acne and will take medications to make the skin condition better. However, using treatments for Acne can actually make things worse because it might cause more redness and inflammation because of the ingredients present in anti acne creams. Instead you must start using proper skin care treatments and associated creams.
If you are already diagnosed with Rosacea, do seek treatment from a professional dermatologist who specializes in treating Rosacea because there are some dermatologists who do not really know how to treat the skin condition. Do remember that there will be treatments made to lessen the irritation of the skin but it is best to have a good skin care routine to lessen the redness and irritation of your skin that may be experienced during a Rosacea outbreak.
