ADHD is common in boys, BECAUSE THEY ARE KIDS and they normally grow out of it. But its funny how he tells his storys

i can tell you..i’m 44 yrold..i was adhd before they named it…my teachers were intolerable to it..my parents were frustrated, my dad refused to see anything wrong, his cure was another beating..purdue univ tested my IQ at 146…but yet i was placed in “basic” classes and assigned “special helpers” and my parents were told it would be “easiest ” if i just quit school. glad they didnt listen
I have ADD but not ADHD. Attention Deficit Disorder… I can’t focus on anything if anything else is going on. Sometimes my own thoughts distract me. But I don’t take any meds or anything.

im a girl, and was diagnosed with ADHD at a very young age as was my brother. and we think my sister is as well she just hasnt been tested. we all have high IQ’s, never can concentrate though the slightest little noise will throw you off whatever youre working on. it truly sucks
add and adhd was left undiagnosed years ago, count your selves lucky
Well, having adhd my mom’s friends told me that I didn’t know how to behave and I needed to be put in my place. That frustrated my mom. Teachers used to tell my mom my mind was always in La La Land. My dad didn’t think I had anything. It is confusing to grow up and not know you have adhd. At one point I thought I was really stupid and my mom just said I was smart to make me feel better. I am going to get a degree in psychology and speacialize in adhd to help people like me.
Boys are commonly *labeled* ADHD b/c boys are a full year behind same-aged girls developmentally. They aren’t meant to sit still at 5 yo.
I never went to school until 7th grade. And I think that’s why I haven’t been diagnosed yet. It’s obvious that I have it.
dont medicate it,use it! be proud of it.
ADHD + High IQ is a nasty combination. Having power to think sucks when thinking is the problem

@roymondously it is an illness…. adhd is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain therefore its something thats not supposed to be there. it hinders your learning and is therefore a disorder
