So good and quick!

Ingredients:

Pizza dough

1 tomato

1/2 can tomato soup (Aylmer brand preferred)

1/4 cup tomato puree (Passata brand preferred)

Dash of oregano

Salt and black pepper

2 tsp olive oil or

3 oz cooked chicken breast, ground meat or sausage of your choice

4 oz mozzarella cheese

 

Instructions:

  1. Make dough then roll out in circular shape and set aside (approx 12 inch)
  2. Allow skillet to heat on stove set to medium
  3. Place dough in skillet and let cook for approx 10 minutes until golden color then flip once
  4. Make sauce: cube tomato then mix with tomato soup, tomato puree, oregano, oil, salt & pepper
  5. Spread desired amount of sauce on dough
  6. Add meat of choice
  7. Sprinkle cheese
  8. Cook for 3 minutes then place in broiler for 1-2 minutes or leave on stove and cook for 7 minutes
    (until cheese is melting)

 

Easy and oh so versatile!

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground turkey or any minced meat

1 onion

1 can red kidney beans

2 tablespoons cumin powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

2 tablespoons green seasoning

1 can diced tomatoes (28 ounces)

4 garlic cloves

1 tablespoon ketchup

 

Instructions:

  1. Turn stove on medium high and allow pot to heat up
  2. Place minced turkey in bowl. Add onion, cumin powder, chilli powder, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, green seasoning, garlic
    Mix altogether with wooden spoon
  3. In hot pot, add minced turkey and allow to brown by stirring constantly
  4. Once browned, add can of diced tomatoes and ketchup
  5. Turn stove down to low and cover pot
  6. Allow to cook for about 30 – 40 minutes
  7. Add red kidney beans
  8. Check if more salt and pepper is needed
  9. Enjoy!

Just like baked bread – bakes are a west Indian comfort food 🙂
Try them with salted fish or as a little side dish.

Ingredients (makes 6 bakes):
2 cups of all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon instant yeast
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup water (more or less to form dough)
1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, yeast and baking powder in a bowl. Mix

2. Gradually add water and knead to form smooth dough

3. Place kitchen towel over bowl and let rise for 30 minutes

4. Add oil to frying pan and turn stove to medium low

5. Take pieces of dough and shape into little disks

6. Fry until golden color is achieved all around(Approx. 15 minutes frying for thoroughly cooked bakes)

7. Place bakes on paper towel to absorb excess oil

This quick hotdog recipe can be eaten in hotdog bun or side dish

Ingredients:
1 pack of  hotdogs (pack of 10)
1 small onion
1 1/2 cup ketchup
5 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions:

1.  Turn stove to low medium and add oil to pan

2. Finely chop onion and add to pan

3. Add ketchup and allow to cook for 5 minutes

4. Add hotdogs and keep stirring – let everything cook for 15 minutes (ketchup will change from bright red to dark red)
